Judges Application (ONLINE APPLICATION)
WE NEED YOU!
Each year, the SASEF needs more than 100 category and special award judges. In the past, scientists, engineers and teachers in and around Knoxville have participated. Most judges work in pairs. If you have never been a judge, but would like to join our team of volunteers, please contact Tim Prather at tprather@utk.edu.
Timeline for Judges:
Nov/Dec - contacted by judge supervisor (Mr. Tim Prather)
Dec 2011/Jan 2012- register online as a judge (at this time you indicate your preferences for judging - age group, discipline, etc.)
Feb 28 - student applications due
March 15 - judge assignments complete and posted on website, parking passes mailed to judges
Tuesday, Mar 27, 2012 ("Judgement Day"!) at Thompson Boling Arena Floor
- 12:30 - 1 PM Judge Assembly for instructions
- 1 PM - 3 PM - open floor for judges (no students)
- 3 PM - 5 PM - judges interview students
- 5 PM - 6 PM - judges submit score sheets, judges for each category meet to choose category winner and recommend projects for higher awards
- 5:30 PM - 7 PM Dinner provided (buffet)
- 6 PM - 9 PM Lead judges meet to choose final winners
Thursday, Mar 29, 2012 5:30 - 7 PM Awards Ceremony and Social (all judges are invited) and 60th Anniversary Celebration!
